Joy in Teaching

I started my first day of RtI groups for “bubble students”.  My principal wanted to have some groups that focused on students that almost are in the next higher level of scoring.  These kids were great today.  They really enjoyed the activity I had planned.  None of them had ever made a wordle.  Spontaneous enjoyment makes those tough classes, when they come along (and they always do) worth it.  I will hope to increase my groups’ RIT scores for the MAP tests theyImage take.  We will be focusing on Reading: Key Idea and Details to start with, with a focus on R.L.3 from the Common Core.  I am so excited to be teaching about how to delve into reading.  And the greatest thing is: they are enthused about this!  Now I just have to keep the momentum.
